The Lab Evolves
The Molecule Protocol is creating verifiable markets for knowledge, compounded by our current technical build; Molecule Labs. A consolidated offering that ties together all the threads we’ve spent the past five years building, as well as integrating a multitude of new features that will allow scientists to go from idea to market, fully onchain & permissionless, fully enabled by Molecule.

Real-World-Asset Legal Framework
Our legal team is developing an innovative legal framework for Intellectual Property Tokens (IPTs) by integrating traditional corporate structures with crypto tokens, enhancing compliance, tax efficiency, and investor appeal while preserving the ethos of decentralization.
The new framework refines and merges our previous framework (IP-NFTs for tokenizing IP and IPTs for collaboration) with traditional startups, by putting IP-NFTs in corporations with equity available for qualified IPT contributors.
That equity that controls the IP and project treasury, enhancing project accountability and upgrading the utility to introduce a new DeSci asset class: IP RWAs. Read the blog.
Genesis of our AI System
Earlier this year we launched MIRA (Molecule Insights Research Assistant); a large language model developed to support researchers and newcomers to DeSci. Unlike general-purpose LLMs that use information from across the web, MIRA works within a defined, trusted set of live sources - designed to support onboarding into DeSci with ultimate reliability. MIRA continues to develop, becoming a sophisticated support tool built into our products that is able to pull directly from Lab updates, perform automated Technology-Readiness Level assessments, and more.
DeSci API
Our word of the year has been infrastructure - from building out protocol integrations with BIO Protocol and pump.science to creating our AI systems with MIRA. Our standout infrastructure win has been the DeSci API; a ‘bridge’ that allows other systems to query data, pull updates and exchange information from Molecule.
We Said Goodbye To
Rigid Primitive Structures
The Liquid Labs architecture dismantles a previously rigid structure whereby the user had to register a Proof-of-Invention (POI), use that to mint an IP-NFT, create the IPTs from the IP-NFT, and only then create a Lab to store data. Complicated! This is being replaced with a flexible, universal entry point, allowing users to tailor their own use case.
Molecule’s Branding
In the same vein - our old brand has struggled to grow with us. We’ve been working on a refresh that unifies and simplifies Molecule. Coming Q1 2026…
The Launchpad
Token launches migrated to BIO Protocol & pump.science, a more intuitive fit, giving Moleucle space to focus on becoming the infrastructure layer for all science moving through the DeSci ecosystem. So far, we’ve seen multiple token launches succeed via the BIO Launchpad, immediately plumbing into Labs where they can securely store data, communicate with their community, and more.

MIRA Intergrations
We’ve recently integrated MIRA into the Screener - located as an ‘Ask MIRA’ button at the bottom of the page. MIRA can give direct info on tokens listed on the Molecule Screener, helping DeSci supporters make informed decisions.
MIRA is able to pull updates directly from Labs via DeSci API, indicative of our large focus this year to build out underlying infrastructure so we can focus on scaling next year. Have a conversation with MIRA today!

Much of what we do is designed to bring the research data closer to the DeSci community. For end of the year, we’ve upgraded the Screener Home Page so you can easily filter through the latest science updates from trading IPTs, all in one place.
What To Expect Next Year
2026 is the year of Labs. We’ve already started the full technical upgrade, which we will share with you in the new year. DeSci, by design, is the exploration of how incredibly powerful web3 & AI technology can supercharge the scientific process - we’re locked in and building this future.
