Molecule Ecosystem, May 2025
Latest updates on the DeSci.Berlin program drop, Proof of Invention API launch, SpineDAO’s $827K raise and DeScience Fair at Solana Accelerate!
DeSci.Berlin Is Days Away - Explore the Full Program
The countdown is on. DeSci.Berlin kicks off June 10-11 at Molecule’s DeSci church, and the full program is now live.
This year, we’re digging into four core themes shaping the future of decentralized science:
1. The TradSci Bottleneck: Barriers to Discovery
What’s slowing biotech innovation, and how can DeSci break the gridlock? Scientists, investors, and ecosystem builders unpack the obstacles and opportunities.
2. Decentralized Science: Real-World Impact
Spotlight on bioDAOs making moves. Hear updates from HairDAO, Curetopia, Molecule, and more, plus live founder pitches from the Nucleate community.
3. AI x DeSci: Supercharging Scientific Discovery
From autonomous research agents to AI-native experimentation, this is where next-gen tooling meets onchain science.
4. Citizen Science & Multichain Research: Building the Open Commons
Hackathon standouts. Decentralized trials. Cross-chain collaboration. Learn how open, participatory research is being built, and who’s building it.
Check out the full program and register here to join us in Berlin or via livestream.
Proof of Invention Now Available via API
Proof of Invention (PoI) is now live through the DeSci API, enabling seamless, backend-level integration.
What this unlocks:
Programmatic creation of cryptographic Proof of Invention
Direct integration with internal systems, no frontend required
Scalable automation for research agents and infrastructure teams
Secure, permissioned access via API keys
BioAgents can now anchor huge numbers of hypotheses directly through the backend, enabling automation at scale. BIO is already onboard to power their real-world invention anchoring.
This is how invention goes onchain, faster, more flexible, and built for automation.

Small win for Molecule tech - big win for onchain science!
$827K Raised - SpineDAO Auction Closes with Major Momentum
The $SPINE community auction on BIO Launchpad just wrapped with $827,500 committed to transforming spine care through AI and decentralized infrastructure.
Thanks to your support, SpineDAO is now one step closer to:
Smarter surgical decisions
Faster, safer recoveries
Real-world hospital integration
Spine care impacts over 540 million people, yet the field is stuck with outdated tools, fragmented data, and unpredictable outcomes.SpineDAO is rebuilding the foundation. Led by spine surgeons and researchers, the project is developing:
AI triage tools to guide treatment decisions
An open, global archive for spine data
A surgeon-tested decision support system
Recovery tracking powered by wearables
A peer-reviewed, open-access spine journal
With Molecule’s IP protocol and DAO-based funding, SpineDAO is setting a new standard for decentralized, open, intelligent and patient-focused care.

DeScience Fair Recap: Where Science Meets Solana
At Solana Accelerate in New York City, something big happened: the first-ever DeScience Fair event, sponsored by the Solana Foundation. PhDegens packed the room to see how science is evolving - getting faster, more open, and built for the internet.
Featuring over 15 DeSci projects and 650+ PhDegends, the event brought together builders, researchers, and the DeSci-curious to explore what happens when science meets internet capital markets.
Pump.science brought the science to the DeScience fair. They dropped fresh data from their latest experiment - a fly race (yes, real flies) - and streamed the results in the room, turning experimental biology into something gamified, accessible, and electric.

Lightning Pitches Lit Up the Afternoon:
Aaron Weaver, Chief Commercial Officer at Molecule, shared a sharp vision of how DeSci reshapes innovation from the ground up.
Benji Leibowitz showcased how pump.science is turning experiments into products - and pushing science forward on Solana.
Paul Kohlhaas gave a look at the BioProtocol and the emerging BioDAO ecosystem, where communities and agents work together to generate, fund, and trade scientific IP.
The DeScience Fair wasn’t just a demo floor. It was a glimpse into a new operating system for science: one that’s open, fast, and built to scale.
DeSci is here. It’s live. And it's finding its home on Solana.
Vibe of the Month: The Propaganda We Are Not Falling For
This month, the “propaganda I’m not falling for” meme format took over social media; a sharp, text-based trend calling out outdated norms and unchallenged assumptions. Naturally, we made our own. Because when it comes to the future of science, we’re not waiting for permission.
